Vouvray hosted the NEW WAVE: 50 new vignerons from more than 20 Appellations. Passion, sharing and mutual support was the order of the day. This event enabled participants to create strong bonds between the driving forces behind the appellations and also allowed them to take a step back and reflect upon what has become an increasingly demanding profession. Subjects too often pushed aside were brought to the fore; the psychological aspect of the job, personal involvement, the impact that commercial choices have upon their private lives. These exchanges were followed by an evening’s wine tasting which showcased the wines from this new generation of vinegrowers and winemakers. What stood out from the day was that in uniting these young growers, they will be more able to ride the waves together and support each other if necessary in the future
